At the age of six, he began showing an interest in the Piccolo. Tom studied Flute, Saxophone and Clarinet under the instruction of his father, H. Herbert Strohman. He commenced his studies at Lebanon Valley College with Frank Stachow, eventually graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Tom has also studied with Phil Woods, Joe Allard, Charles DeLaney, Adolphe Sandole, John Oberbrunner, and Walter Bishop, Jr., in addition to earning a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from Towson University. ==Jazz Influence== Strohman first developed a distinct interest in Jazz while in high school. He was named "Outstanding Musician" at the Quinnipiac Intercollegiate Jazz Festival while a member of the Lebanon Lebanon Valley College Jazz Band. Tom has performed as a freelance musician for famous entertainers Sonny and Cher, Frankie Avalon, Della Reese, Al Martino, The Four Aces, Patti Page, Eddie Fisher and Bobby Vinton.
